One Day

One day,

Wondering through some very seen but unknown fields with Goyo, we discovered, right in front of us, where I have had driven more than a thousand times, nature alive.

Since then, we used to go every once in a while, running through the nature and swimming in the dam made Goyo’s day.

One day,

Sunday,

we were wondering as usual, he had swum and was very happy. All of a sudden, around 30 dogs, all in line and sitting, appeared in our horizon. Surely Goyo was excited, I was surprised.

A couple of Sundays later, we were there, in line, Goyo sitting and learning how to behave. Yes, he had swum too and we were smiling.
The field and dam which were unknown some months before, felt now like part of home, where we could be, have fun and grow.

One day,

Another Sunday,

we were running towards the dam with several of Goyo’s today friends.
A good swim was all what those dogs wanted before a couple of hours of hard work.
All of a sudden, a huge and grey fence was in front of my nose.
I could not believe the path to the dam was close; worst was to discover, soon that dam and fields will be covered by asphalt.

What?!?!?!

Today,

I am still incredulous.
And feel a hole in my stomach whenever I rec
all the moment my run was stopped by that grey fence.

I know Mexico City, one of the biggest of the world needs streets and highways.
I know the government needs to do something to help the tr
affic.

But…
I also know I live in a modern world, where,

Engineering is good enough as to make elevated highways and bridges.
Nature is very important; we need to take care of it
Green areas in big cities are the ones that provide us clean air to breathe
I have the right to have public spaces to enjoy life, nature and run freely with my dog.

To, take delight on normal Sundays and smile.
